Letter: Good first impression for Neiman

To the Editor,

The superb performance enjoyed by the large audience at the New Year's Eve concert by Manchester Music Festival held at the First Congregational Church gave us a strong hint of the fresh direction and high quality we can expect under the Festival's new artistic director, Adam Neiman. With his own world class performance at the piano, Adam had assembled a delightful program with The Haven String Quartet and the powerful baritone voice of Randal Scarlatta. The summer program is already in place and promises to be a cornucopia of top quality musical talent at a whole new level.

With the advent of Taconic Music, Manchester now has two organizations offering classical and other music. The community should rejoice at this unique wealth of musical offerings that will complement and expand our horizons with valuable new talent and artistic variety. Both are assets well worth supporting and as they thrive they will be part of what makes our community so special.
