Fundraiser for Monaforte family on Sunday

Posted

MANCHESTER — A fundraiser for Halley Grabarz Monforte in her fight against a brain tumor is being planned for 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 16 at the Hill Farm Inn in Sunderland.

Monforte, a 2004 graduate of Burr and Burton Academy, former field hockey coach at the school and mother of three children, is undergoing treatment for an Anaplastic Astrosytoma grade 3 brain tumor. Until her recent diagnosis left her unable to work, she has been a daycare provider at Take Five Childcare in Manchester.

Her husband, Zach Monforte, is a paraeducator and wrestling coach at BBA. The couple's three children are Camryn, 6, Genny, 4, and Connor, 10 months.

The fundraiser will feature live music by the Don't Leave Band, lawn games, a silent auction and food and drink. All proceeds will go to the Monaforte family.

Those who cannot attend but would still like to donate may do so at a GoFundMe page for the family, at www.gofundme.com/halley-montforte-fights-cancer.
